What wrong with the forum?

Post by markcynt » Wed Jun 30, 2010 5:05 am

Last night browsing through the forum was either extremely slow or just impossible.

At one point I clicked on a topic title and 20 minutes later it still hadn't loaded.

So I decided to try it later and I got an error page saying too many connections. (See attached)

This also happened to me a week or two ago.

Maybe it's time to upgrade the forum?

I haven't experienced anything like that, maybe i was on the forums at different times, but i don't get why clicking on "Post Reply" and logging in after that, redirects me back to the Board Index instead of directly to the post as before.

Probably depends on the traffic and processes running on the servers (web and mysql). If the forum is getting hit with lot's of connections etc. things will slow down for a bit. Depending on the hosting service, the shared server may also be getting near max'd out conditions.

I've noticed from time to time that the Mint boards are sluggish. Usually clears up after a few moments. Also the problem may be aggravated on your end by your provider.

Nothing wrong on my end.

When I have problems with Mint forums I check many other websites and they all load instantly.

I'd be very surprised if many others weren't having the same problem since the number of postings yesterday seemed to be way down.

The title of this thread is very accommodating, so i will take the liberty of digressing... whatever happened to 'post reply'>>log in>>redirected to post and not back to Board index.
