looking for libstdc++2.8 library

new to mint celena

where should I look for an older library (libstdc++2.8 ) which
is used by the acrossl program for crosswords from the new york times.

don't see it listed in the software installation utility

You could try this .deb of it.
libstdc++2.8_2.90.29-2.deb
Might want to keep a backup of this.

but something about the directory path triggers
pnoid reflex ;) no disrespect intended.

looking around the net, seems like a gentoo release
might have it in lib-compat.

meanwhile I grabbed a windoze version and ran it in wine.
