X settings change...but only for my user ???

I am running Mint 3.1 with Nvidia driver. For some odd reason, my screen resolution changed from 1680x1050 to 1024x768. I used the Nvidia settings to change it back to 1680x1050, and all works well...until I log out. then upon next login, i am right back to 1024 resolution. Yes, i have checked /etc/X11/xorg.conf and the resolution is set for 1680x1050. That in itself is odd, but even more so...every other user logs in with the correct resolution. I am the only one it does this to. I am the SUDO user.

Any ideas

The nvidia settings is a bit - no more than a bit - difficult to use.
I say don't use the two top options (beginning with Xserver)
as it destroys all special settings in your xorg.conf (and you have to use sudo to get it to work)
Use the screen resolution tool and I think you're OK
