An aside:

Microsoft announces a new version of Windows, Windows 11.

Windows 11 supports Android apps.

Microsoft is losing market share to devices running IOS and Android.

It also offers an advanced user interface (people got sick of 'flat'?)

Far as I am concerned, Windows is losing market share thanks to Linux Mint.

I've swapped a lot of my friends out...

Maybe Mint should consider support for Android apps?
And it REQUIRES a Microsoft account to even install…. The evil continues.

Not surprising since Sadist Nutella (sic) was in charge of Cloud development for Windoze before being promoted to CIC (Chief Idiot in Charge).

That seems nice on the surface, especially when Linux phones start to really take off (or, maybe, even help them to takeoff) but Android is Google and that alone would make me nervous as a squirrel in a dog park with no trees.

Hello

I am Marie-Noële. I live in Switzerland and I have a laptop under Linux Mint since a few days. This is mostly a "lab" and "rescue" machine (if my main laptop ever fails), but it also means that it is important and that it must work reliably when I need it. I am happy to join a large community around this distribution.

Hello

Thank you very much for your kind message. I know that Mint is mature and stable and I do not doubt that it will work very well.

I would really like to see if there are any female Mint users visiting or active here.
Say "Hi" if this applies to you!

I am a mixed bag European, currently in London. As of today 13 Nov I am taking my first steps in Linux, with trepidation.
Hi I'm Debbie from Kamloops. I'm really impressed with Mint! Love this build!

Agree, it doesn't matter much here apart from as a curiousity and knowing you are not the only one.

But there are plenty of times it matters a great deal, imo! Examples: Bringing life into this world, Lifting a very heavy object in an emergency, Most aspects of home-making (let's face it -we do it better!), Bravery and kudos in a life-threatening situation like terrorist hostage taking in Paris (there are no chicks in the Spetsnaz, Foreign legion or SAS).
We couldn't make it without each other though!
Viva la diferencia! :D

State your case.
Personally I love you all--even the grouchy ones.
Just to mention though--my mother was a lady in-fact

I wouldn't know, I don't call myself that.

Here's how I see it: in an ideal world, we would not need this thread because gender doesn't matter in most things and certainly not in technical things. But it's not an ideal world, and in a technical forum, it can be good to see that this is a place where women AND men can be found. And also some people who don't fit either of these categories. And all are welcome.

Some technical spaces still are male-dominated, so it's helpful to state explicitly that this one is not.
