Hello Friends

Postby dstleanage » Mon Jul 23, 2012 1:31 am

Bonjour to everyone, I'm Darrel from Sri Lanka, and I'm one of the biggest fans of Linux among all my friends. I started using linux after one of my friends introduced Ubuntu for me. It was in the year 2002 as I remember. Since then, I've been using different versions of linux until today, and I'm really amazed with the OS. Out of all those distros I used, Mint is the most interesting version for me. And also it's quite user friendly than the other distros. Of course there are alot more versions that I have still not used such as Zorin OS, Open Suse, Knoppix, ect:. I'm hoping to use them as well in the near future. Hope all you will give me a helping hand to do some c++ programming in Linux. Thank you.

Hi dstleanage, welcome to the Linux Mint forums :D Thanks for joining the forums! the first release of Ubuntu was late 2004, so either time is moving slower than you think or you used something else first

Be sure also to check out the Community website (tutorials, hardware and software reviews, ideas), and the Cinnamon Spices website for adding even more themes, applets and extensions to Cinnamon.

You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users.

Have fun with Linux Mint
