Proud Noob :-D

Postby grandtheft_jiujitsu » Sun Aug 26, 2012 11:39 pm

Hello all, it is a pleasure to be here! Like many others I got fed up with the all the spyware/virus/defag - checking in windows. Though, Windows 7 worked fine for me, I first installed Linux (was actually Ubuntu LTS) a few days ago out of curiosity and it was love at first boot :D I did switch to Mint for its user friendliness though. I'm eager to learn and things are running slick so far.
I actually switched to Linux because I'm a bit of a power user when it comes to ROM swapping and such on Android and looked to this to get my toes wet before starting some Dev work there. Still working out some kinks, but here's to rockin in the free world!

Keep your desktop smooth, clean, and sexy.

Welcome to the Mint family forums

The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.

Hi grandtheft_jiujitsu, welcome to the Linux Mint forums :D Thanks for joining the forums!

Be sure also to check out the Community website (tutorials, hardware and software reviews, ideas), and the Cinnamon Spices website for adding even more themes, applets and extensions to Cinnamon.

You can also chat in real-time with other Linux Mint users. In the Mint Menu, in the Internet section, start the application XChat IRC. You will automatically get connected to #linuxmint-chat for general chat and #linuxmint-help for support with other Linux Mint users.

Have fun with Linux Mint.
