Hello, i'm new @ Linux environment
I've tried number of solution posted in the forum regarding this problem "Software manager not working"
also my Linux is not able to update
I've installed Linux mint 15 olivia cinnamon
The error encountered is as follows ----

it sounds like the system needs to run

Chetan, if you're still out there...
it sounds like you don't have network connectivity.
If you are installing from the LinuxMint Live CD, let it boot to live CD session, then go to the network manager and setup networking for your ISP, etc. THEN, and only then, proceed to click the "Install Mint" icon or whatever it says. That solved some nasty problems I was having.
My ISP uses PPPoE protocol. In the network manager, I had to use the menu called "DSL" to enter the password, user, etc.
