Learning fast

Post by JasonSpinney »

Hello and welcome.

As the previous poster said, it's been a journey but I'm finally here.

Dropped off the mac cliff some 5 yrs ago into windows 7. Then came 8. And quickly Ubuntu about 2 yrs ago.
Recently (in the last few weeks) I've tried Deepin - great Android looking desktop but not yet stable and crashed big style.
Then I was running Mint and Open Suse with Suse on the KDE which I love. Realising how all encompassing and connected Mint is, I then searched for a KDE desktop and started again last week with Mint 17.2 KDE and aborted Suse. Lovely as it was, it couldn't find my phone and the firewall was too hard to handle. Can't wait for the 17.3 KDE top to be released in Jan'.

As you can tell, I'm new to understanding the intricacies and workings of the inner computer but am now resolved to it.
Putting myself through Google Analytics academy, signed on as a Google Partner, reading all the Linux guides from the document project, subscribing to Linux Format mag and about to have an interview to be a systems analyst. Whatever that is! But, it's a start in a new direction. And, I'm probably about to try to install Mint on my Chromebook. Watch this space......

So pleased to be here. Hello Mint world!

Welcome to the Mint family forums,

every so often I download the latest x86 version of android and have fun playing about with it, but i think it's still a way off for full compatability

The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.
