New Linux User

Post by silvercrest » Mon Jan 18, 2016 2:34 pm

Brand new to Linux. I am a computer user with very little technical know-how. Tried a few live discs and installed Mint Cinnamon after a win update or something left me with an unusable computer. So far all has gone well except for the printer/scanner, I will post on the hardware forum about that.

Welcome to the Mint family forums

wizard

edit... your HP scanner should work, open menu open graphics open simple scan and try it

simple scan works with 80% of scanners and is a stable Linux base program....
The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.

Welcome, silvercrest. I get a lot of desperate calls from friends after Win10 updates. Mint doesn't do that.

I support all choices of operating systems that take time to investigate the Linuxes.
Welcome to Linux, welcome to GNU, welcome to Linux Mint, and welcome to the Linux forums.
