Greetings to all!
I have been wanting to get away from Microsux for a very long time now. Started back in 1995 with windows. Several times over the last 20 years I have tried red hat and several other linux versions and never could get the hang of it. a couple years ago I discovered Centos and played with it a bit right up to a couple months ago with Centos7. A month ago I found Mint KDE and fell in love! Still going on the initial install and working seamlessly. One of the best things for me is the ease of accessing all my old windows NTFS external drives and all my old data with ease. The day before I installed Mint KDE I reinstalled win7 two times and got blue screen of death both times as soon as I connected to the net. I am involved with some heavy duty republic stuff and have become a target by some alphabet agencies. With Mint, looks like they can't mess with me! Besides not having to deal with product keys and their snooping on my system is a blessing. Got all my friends looking into changing over as well. Looking forward to learning all I can about Mint.

Welcome to the family, and Happy Minting!
Be careful! No system is entirely secure. We've got a lot of good security tutorials around here too. May I suggest you look at viewtopic.php?f=42&t=158379&start=20 and
