My name is Carl Mcnutt.
I am new to Linux 17.3.
I have never used the Terminal because I don't understand what it is all about.
All of my problems seem to be local ones, correctable in Firefox or Mint.
I appreciate your assistance !
I think I do quite well for being 76 years old.
We don't get older, our battery just dies.
Carl

Welcome aboard, Carl! It's actually pretty rare that you need the terminal, although there are times when it can be the best way to accomplish something. Most of the time, if you have a problem that needs the terminal to correct it, somebody here can tell you exactly what to enter. So don't worry about it.

Hi there are many of us on the forums who have snow on the roof or worse still no thatch left
unless you come a real cropper with your installation there is no need to worry about terminal command, and if that rare occurrence happens the members will spell it out line by line for you
