Hi All, First, Thanks for providing this Forum.
I know the work involved....having been a former Admin on another board.
OK, I am new to Linux but have many years at the Shh....
{Adjustable Wall Openings} Help desk, at a firm, in NYC before I retired.
Have decided to go with Open source, as the future looks more promising.
That said, I ordered a live install DVD online, and I installed Quiana with only minor issues,
...those being "too quick to click" on the "continue" button, a bad habit after years
of installing and upgrading the 'other' system... along with my dislike of sitting, doing nothing.
I have also begun experimenting with Raspberry Pi, and with the Arduino.
Looking forward to giving whatever assistance I can. which at present isn't going to be too much,
as I have not had a hand at Computers in over 15 years, other than emailing, and google searches.
My other interests are flying and I am currently building an experimental aircraft from scratch.
Sorry...No pre-drilled or pre-assembled kits for me...
OK..
This coming to you from a Linux 3.13.0-24-generic (x86_64)

I'm currently located not too far from the Gulf of Mexico. where it is HOT... very Hot!

That's got to be one of the most creative descriptions I've seen yet.MintyFreshOne wrote: OK, I am new to Linux but have many years at the Shh....

Welcome to the family, and Happy Minting!
Re: anudder noob
What home built are you building? I built Bob Bushby's Midget Mustang.
Re: anudder noob
Distro Don,
SWEET! I like the midget Mustang a lot!
Mine, is a design of my own, loosely based on the Pegazair, and the Technam, , 1320# gross,
A 2 seat side by side, tail dragger, with a rear window, and a rear view mirror like the fighters have...
So I don't have to be a contort my body to check the empennage flight surfaces, during preflight run-up.
100 HP, Corvair Powered of Course.... with aftermarket 5th Bearing.
Everyone:
Thanks for the warm welcome! Nice to be here.
As we all get a bit older the eyesight gets to be less and less, of what we don't need,
and more and more of what we don't want.
With that in mind, I'd like to suggest an adjustable choice of type sizes,
and colors, for the web pages.
I suffer eye strain, trying to read a grey font on a light grey background. as I am sure
many other older members do also.
I can't seem to figure out how to post on that "ideas" page.
