New to Linux Mint

Post by DeanoVIP » Mon Aug 29, 2016 9:46 am

Hi all, just wanted to say hello, I'm brand new to Linux Mint. After being with Windows for the last 15 years, and the need to sell the desktop and go with a laptop I took the opportunity to change. So far I'm really impressed, a little confused at times but when I get something done you get a sense of achievement. I'm looking to learn HTML, CSS etc.. play the odd game, surf the web usual stuff. I'm sure I will be calling for help in the near future so look forward to chatting with you all. :D

Welcome to the Mint family forums

The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.

Hi DeanoVIP,
Welcome to Mint and the forums.
At first the learning curve seems steeper than it really is.
