I have taken the blue pill, Windows Be Gone
Hello all
I am just starting to feel what digital freedom is truly like. I have climbed the ranks from MS DOS 6.1/ Win 3.1 to Win 10. How I never suffered a total meltdown is beyond me. So I have used several Distros with their Live CD/USB temp setups. Mint 6 or 7 on a CD attached to a Maximum PC Magazine was the 1st Distro I actually installed. I kept it for a few months and had to get back to my clients who didn't even know Linux existed.
So using my keyboard time machine lets move forward in time to Win 8.0/8.1 Arrrrg. Warning meltdown certain except for the fact that all my clients already had meltdowns. I made good money making Win 8.1 look like Win 7 or XP and getting their hardware/software to work, most of the time. But myself I bought a new drive and started installing and trying different Distros always falling back on Mint. Now after the ones and zeros have settled I am running Mint 18 Cinnamon as my main OS on my desktop.
So this is the age of true digital freedom at least at the OS level. To a point I don't have to conform I will walk the same path as some but I am not put through install boot camp then on to the regulations set forth by Redmond. So I am a kid in a toy store, one that accepts monopoly money not my entire paycheck.
I hope to learn from all of you and in time help others to take the Blue Pill..... PCDok

I checked the possible side affects of the "blue pill" and did not see any reference to Windows so your post is very interesting...

That can be dangerous... better be careful with that.altair4 wrote: I had the wrong blue pill.
(And? Did it work? )
If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

Re: I have taken the blue pill, Windows Be Gone
Thank You all, It has been quite a nice experience with Mint 18 Cinnamon. I was even able to configure my Corsair K70 RGB
keyboard and run effects on it. I am beginning to educate others on what happens when you take The Blue Pill "OS Freedom Ahhhh".
