Hello from me

Post by CraigxXP » Sat Dec 10, 2016 8:00 am

Hello fellow Linux people.
I am new (ish) to this after ditching Win XP on my sluggish laptop.
I did love Ubunto a few years ago after injecting new life into a cheep laptop, but sold it to my workmate when his pc died unexpectedly.
Anyway, im now on Mint 18 Cinamon 32 and all seems fine at the minute.
I have a few questions that i will be asking in the technical area, but upto now my machine feels like a turbo charged jet engine compared to how it ran on Windows before.
Greetings from Yorkshire U.K, thanks for having me.

The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.

Hello CraigxXP - from an also novice in the hidden secrets of the command line...

Always curious what is going on: say something about your device. I for myself am specialized in low end machines - and always impressed what Linux can do there.
Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia (Mate) 32-bit - Acer D250 Netbook (Intel Atom N270, 2 GB RAM, 120 GB SSD)
Linux Mint 17.3 Rosa (Mate) 64-bit - MacBook Pro 15" (Intel Core2 Duo, 8 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD) - with some separation difficulties...
