Just now looking into Linux mint. I started out as a dos user and have been jumping through windows ever since. Did buy Red Hat once but never had enough courage to install it. Over the years rather than change OS, would replace the main office machine and use the old one for Ham radio applications. So looking to get rid of some windows that stick and break.
Greetings from Amish country in Ohio.

Hi "amishhart",
Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum !
It would help to know more about your system(s) setup, like which edition and version of Linux Mint did you decided to use. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.
FYI: There seems to be a fair amount of Ham Radio software packages in the Software Manager or Synaptic Package Manager (SPM) that might interest you.

Welcome aboard, amishhart! Never been to Amish country, but I would like to visit an Amish community sometime.
