Hello from Queensland Australia

Post by lyndave » Sat Apr 29, 2017 9:53 am

Hello, i am Dave and i first played a little with Linux quite a few years ago but then left it alone.
i really became a linux mint only person, about 6 months ago when my old computer died and i
had a look at windows 10. i heard about the privacy issues and decided it was linux mint for me.
There was 1 program i really liked using that was for windows and so i installed wine.
My wife also uses linux mint for most things, but she plays games on her windows 10 computer.
We do have a windows 7 computer that mostly remains idle.
i have learn't a bit about linux and i continue to learn.
Will i ever go back to windows? NO......never.
Nice to be here

G'day and welcome to the mint family forums

I am not a gamer but has she tried using WINE or play on Linux for her windows games ?

Welcome to Mint!

You will find these forums full of folks that have had their fill of Windows. I too have a Win7 box but rarely power it up. Linux is so much easier and doesn't intrude on your life and privacy. What I need to do I can do in Mint. And if I can't (and can't find an open source software alternative), I find myself re-evaluating whether I need to do that specific thing or not. So far, it's been not. And I haven't missed it.
