hello!, I just found out about linux mint about 2 weeks ago, Im a 8 year user of windows. 9 days ago I ditched windows for linux on one of my four machines. I fell in love and now have 3 of my 4 machines running linux mint xfce. I first went to mate but then liked xfce better. here are reasons why I love linux:
1) cost, its free and if/when my hard drives fail I wont have to pay $120 for a new windows 10 lisense key but will only have to buy a new hard drive and spend 1 hour setting everything up.
2) it took my 1.5 hours to set up linux from scratch INCLUDING reinstalling my 25GB of music videos and movies, my last windows 10 PC took 5 HOURS to set up properly ( turning off cortana ands all the crap on it)
3) I dont have to spend 1-2 hours every 2 weeks installing yet another windows "cumulative update"....OR spending time running scans of malwarebytes, super antispyware, and windows defender!, Im running ZERO anti virus and anti malware.
4) my cheapest oldest acer duel core 1.6 MHZ processor PC is very fast, MUCH faster than windows 7 or 10.
5) lightning fast startup and waking up out of sleep/suspend.
I will be shortly transforming my 4th pc to linux mint.
also I love these forums, keep up the great work!

welcome to our Forum
you've pretty much, hit the Nail on the Head, with those comments.
yep - when a Linux Systems, is working well, is a magnificent system to behold.
- getting it to work correctly, can be a right nuisance, though.
but, once you've achieved that, it's all worth it.
