New To Linux

Post by nick67+ » Mon Aug 14, 2017 5:13 pm

Hi all,

My name's Nick and I'm recently converted to Linux after many disgruntled years funding the Microsoft machine.
I've installed Mint 18.2 KDE after playing around with a few other distros including Ubuntu 16.04. Hope to learn a lot from you folk - particularly around the command line.

Regards
Nick.
There is always Hope...

@Nick - You can learn a lot of good stuff on the forum. Try using the 'advanced search'. Search for 'command line tutorials' or 'command line interface' (CLI). Try the same searches on the Internet and even in YouTube.

Welcome & don't be afraid to ask questions!

Please, if your query has been resolved, edit your first post and add [SOLVED] to the beginning of the subject line. This may help others find solutions.

Welcome aboard, nick67+! You can learn a lot just by hanging out here on the forums. A good command line book is The Linux Command Line, by William Shotts. And, it's free to download, too!

The idea that Bill Gates has appeared like a knight in shining armour to lead all customers out of a mire of technological chaos neatly ignores the fact that it was he who, by peddling second-rate technology, led them into it in the first place.
