Hi from Yorkshire

Post by themuttsknutts »

Hi from a sunny afternoon in Yorkshire.

Just finished installing and configuring mint for the first time an i like it. decided on the change after a fried motherboard ruined my windows 7 and I couldn't face windows 10. rather not have a computer than have win 10.

not a complete newbie as I have tinkered in the past.

If I have 1 moan it would be graphics drivers - spent a day and a half with cinnamon crashing every boot over nvidia drivers but Mate is delightful and seems rock solid.

Also much faster than windows. Will have to get used to having a machine that's actually usable when i turn it on rather than waiting for 10 minutes for it to boot and scan itself silly.

AMD ryzen on msi with 16GB and 2 SSD's. works a dream.

Welcome to Minty goodness! Love the username.

Re. the comment about the sunny afternoon, I'd say it's been the best August bank holiday in at least a decade. Certainly the best early-mid Summer as well. Hope we don't have to wait another decade ... now, where's that Brolly smilie
