Greetings and Salutations and all that good Stuff
Hello everyone.
Long time computer user who started out on a Tandy TRS-80 way back in elementary school. Then we had the first Apple Mac also. Went to college in the late 90's and spent a lot of time between classes playing M.U.D.s on monochrome unix monitors hooked up to my Uni's server. When they installed Windows labs, I became a lab monitor (college work study). I have some back ground with linux and other command line stuff. A little knowledge with *ix, php, basic, html, dos, etc.
I've always had Windows boxes but the latest "free upgrade" to Win10 and not being able to update anything for a year was enough. I should have switched over years ago.
My wife is a Mac person, so I use that a bit.
So far my only real issue is that I haven't found a good way to connect my iphone to Linux. Otherwise, I've been very happy with reliability, speed, and compatible software.

Re: Greetings and Salutations and all that good Stuff
I never used a TRS80 but remember seeing them in the local Tandy store in the 1980s. Curiosity strikes again: I wonder if there is an old Linux kernel which would run on one of those? Or the Amstrad PC1640 for that matter, I do have one of those, with a 20MB band-stepper hard drive (working, it seems) and single 5¼" 360K floppy (I did try it with a 1.2MB drive but it wouldn't recognize it) ... anyway welcome to Mint and the Forums.
