Hi all,
Thought I'd post my story. I recently retired as an airport IT manager babysitting NT and WIN server/workstations since the 90's. I had an old Dell 3020, I5 collecting dust so I invested about an hour research effort to explore a Linux install. I loaded Mint 18.3 with Cinnamon and began trying to break it. The idea was to make a stable PC for my Mother-in-law who seems to attract Win10 nightmares and malware. Okay, maybe just trying to cut support time and phone fixes. I had team viewer resident on her PC!
Okay, so went in thinking this will be a journey of time and experiments. To my surprise and delight, the build was stupid simple and tweaking was intuitive with a little reading. To tie this up, I moved over to this box for my private "main PC". Going to have to find another box for the relative. Guess I never thought I would be a convert. Kinda lucky 'cause I actually thought - Umm, Mint and Cinnamon, sounds tasty. And it is!
