I've been using Linux Mint for the last 3 or 4 years mainly via the GUI.
I have LM (and win 7) on my desktop and I also "revived" a little notepad (32bit) which was just a paperweight before!
Recently, my wife received a present of an HP Stream (win 10! ) . It had enough memory remaining to save a few emails at most... However I liked that it had a SSD (limited size unfortunately) and that it was 64bit. The SSD meant it would be robust and we could throw it into the topcase on the bike when we go touring. I read (and followed) an article on replacing W10 with Linux on the same machine, written by a person who is involved in a bicycle club but I thought it was a well written and illustrated article. Well I did the same as he did and now I have a very nice small and light machine with lots of space on the SSD!
I have a few digital (and film) cameras and use 'darktable' to edit my photos because I only produce RAW images on all my digital cams. It is concerning darktable updates that I will look for the right place to pose a query...
Regards
Clive Liddell

Re: Introduction, eventually
Welcome to the Linux Mint forums. I've used Linux for a few months now, but I'm more comfortable with Mint due to better performance and speed towards my old laptop.
