Hullos from Suriname,

where I am stuck at a frozen login screen (every time I try to login) after my first linux mint install

Wish me good luck, guys, or no better yet, wish me good solutions.

Off to the boards, yipiekayee!(or something like that)

!!!UPDATE!!:
all freezes are resolved, feel so embarrassed, was just a matter of double checking if Nvidia drives were updated.
My MSI laptop has been working wonderfully since then, so I guess the middle finger issue of Linus has been resolved a while ago?:

Welcome, Maxandy! You've come to the right place. There's a good chance we'll be able to help you get up and running here.
If I were you, I'd post a support topic in the Newbie Questions section, with as much information as you have, and see what happens.

If your issue is solved, kindly indicate that by editing the first post in the topic, and adding [SOLVED] to the title. Thanks!

Thanks all for this awesome welcome, supernice to meet you catweazel, Jimallyn, wharfRat and Moem

After a few power off's (with hardware off-button, ouch..) everything starts to come together.
Enjoying my first time Linux experience immensely,
and all without touching the terminal, which I hope to explore shortly, also for the first time.

Thanks for the tip, Moem, going to post my laptop info and quest how to optimize and stabilize my Mint at the Newbie section.

Welcome to the forums, maxandy!

Just a tip: in your posts for getting help, don't forget to supply the results of this command from Terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
It's very helpful for members to help you. :D
