Hello from Canada

Post by stephanieswitzer » Mon Feb 26, 2018 1:38 pm

Hello everyone, I'm Stephanie from Ontario, Canada.

New Girl in town

I've just dove back into Linux after switching from RedHat to MacOS X a few years ago. I have 2 MacMini's, a MacBook Pro, an iMac 27", 2 Raspberry Pi 3's and an Odroid XU4. I'm running Raspbian-Stretch on the Raspberry Pi's one with a touch screen, booting from a MicroSD and the other I put together connected to an old MacBook Pro 15" screen, booting off a 1 TB USB Drive. The Oroid XU4 is running Ubuntu-Mate 16.4. I've tried to install Mint on the Pi's, XU4 and my MacBook Pro, with out success so I decided to set up a dual boot MacOSX and Mint on one of the MacMini's and using rEFInd to boot between the two. Everything worked out perfectly and after trying out several other flavours of Linux, I've finally found a distro I love, MINT (if you can love a Distro lol)

Welcome aboard, Stephanie! And I will say that Pjotr's Easy Linux Tips site is an awesome resource.

Hello, Stepanie.
I am also a MacMini user, but almost only as host for different Linux distros, Free BeOs, Windows etc. in the VirtualBox. Processor-wise my netbook might compete with your raspberries...
