Long time Windows user here
Hi!
First, I would like to thank all involved in the development of Linux Mint. Your hard work are very much appreciated.
I'm a long time Windows user and still use it, because hundreds of our apps at work only runs on it. Anyways, I started looking for an alternatives a couple years ago when MS decided to make it so obvious they don't care about what the users want.
I also tried other Linux distros like Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, LXLE, Zorin OS, MX-15, OpenSuse, Solus....(can't remember the others). But I ended up with Linux Mint because of its overall score in the tests that I conducted.
For now, I'm the only one with a Linux OS at work (1 of 3 machines). But I'm trying to recommend it to everyone here.

Welcome! Great that you're trying to recommend it to others. Hope you can spread the "fever".

Welcome! You could try installing Windows in VirtualBox and see if the apps you need will run OK in that, in which case your co-workers will have no excuse!

Re: Long time Windows user here
I would have done that already if only I had access right to the installation discs for the runtime package required. I would really like to test if the apps would run and don't break. Most require persistent connections with each other's data and logs. That is the main reason 2 of the 3 machines I use are still on Windows.
