New to Linux - From Philippines

Post by danangeloalcanar »

Hello Linux Mint Community!

I am new to Linux and I decided to go with Linux Mint because they say it is user friendly. I am a Windows user.
I want to use Linux because I am hired as web developer and most of the tutorials I have seen uses unix.
Now I installed Mint in a virtual box to give it a try. I hope this will be a good learning journey.

Thanks. Hope you can guide me.

Love from Philippines
-Dan

Hi Dan,
Yes--excellent that you are choosing Mint.

Here is two recommendations for newcomers:

First-- go to https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/Home and bookmark that page.
This concise website has the best introduction, tips, and insider information available to newcomers. The author, Pjtor, frequents this forum as well, so you will eventually meet him here.

Secondly--you will learn a lot just by hanging out in the Mint forums. Read the posts and the responses to them. Observe how questions are being posted and what additional information is being requested in the replies. Including the proper details will ensure a more focused response if you post a question.

Lastly--Feel liberated and enjoy your Mint.
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.
