Hello, Mint

Post by jaywill » Thu Apr 26, 2018 11:18 pm

Thank you for the Linux. I've converted my old machine I used in college into my first ever home Linux machine. (Win 10 was the final nail in the coffin) It's like being reunited with an old friend.

I first downloaded the KDE desktop because I use KDE at work. I tried to download eclipse, but got version 3.8. (super old) I probably did something wrong in the flurry of 'sudo apt' commands I ran. Oh well.. At least I got Snake working.. I'm making another attempt, this time with Cinnamon. Wish me luck!

welcome to our forum
:D

do note that both KDE & Cinnamon DE are both a heavy environment,
if you are running an older machine, then it is suggested that you use the Mate Desktop Environment.
