Hello!
I am completely new to the whole Linux scene, I've been using Windows since I was a kid. Operating/building computers are just one of my many hobbies.
Recently, I've grown curious about Linux and did extensive research on which distro looks the friendliest and I obviously settled for Mint. It definitely looks familiar to what I'm used to running.
I just built a computer from scratch this weekend as a dedicated work station that uses Mint.
Specs:
MB: ASUS Prime B450-A/CSM AM4 mATX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 2700x 3.7 gHz 8 Core AM4
GPU: MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8gb GDDR5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB DDR4-3200
PSU: EVGA 650 watt Modular PSU
SSD: PNY 120 GB
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200rpm HDD
Plus all the peripherals...
That hurt me in the wallet, but I believe it will be a worthy investment. I plan on making this into my main work station for art, music, 3D rendering, and animation.
With this being fairly unfamiliar to me, I am glad that there is a whole community behind it all. There would be no way for me to figure this out on my own.
Thank you!

I wouldn't say "settled"! You picked the best distro out there. Welcome, TJ_Vinny!

I was running through my files for some jewellery valuations and found the receipts for the last system I built.... That was 8 years ago!! Better pull my finger out! Looks like you have a nice rig there, enjoy, along with Mint, you are onto a winner there.
