Hello from South Africa.

Post by JRvZ »

I have been using Windows for a long time.

I was introduced to Linux Mint by a good friend who helped me to set up my Intel NUC.

We installed Linux Mint and I have been impressed. It has run well & fast.

I have installed Linuxmint 19 on my old HP laptop which was suffering badly from Windows 10 bloat, but has been given a new life by Linux Mint.

However I have been having problem installing drivers & software packages. There doesn't seem to be a standard method of doing this.

For instance I had a big job persuading the NUC to talk to wifi.

And now I am having a huge job trying to install Seamonkey. I will tackle this elsewhere in detail. but a guide on the installation of software packages would be a big help. At the moment I am groping in the dark - blindly following instructions without a clue about what I am doing.

Bye
