Thanks Linux Mint

Post by MatthewLind »

Hi there!

I installed Linux Mint yesterday alongside of Windows, and on day 2 I'm already in love. I have spent the past year and a half or so messing around with Raspberry Pi's, so I am comfortable with the command line and Debian, but man, I gotta say it is so nice having a full desktop Linux.

Mint looks great, I'm using the latest Cinnamon version. I've got purple folders, the sound effects are cute, and I feel like things are simplified compared to Windows. I've pretty much already got all of the software I need. I have Emacs with OrgMode (It is an absolute life changer, get Emacs just for OrgMode everyone). I have KiCAD and FreeCAD. And of course I have LibreOffice.

All around I feel so happy with the choice to join ya'll in Linux Mint. I feel like I finally actually own my computer. I'm stoked and I wanted to share my enthusiasm with all of you Minters out there.

P.S. I hooked up my printer earlier today to print a PDF and it just freakin' printed!
