I am a man of wealth and taste

Post by Casix » Thu Oct 25, 2018 5:57 pm

Well, not really... ;)

Name's Casix, m, engineer, age 40-50, married with children.

This is - or will be, rather - my third foray into Linux after SUSE 6.X and Mandrake years back. As a full-on replacement, it didn't work for me due to pretty much all of the usual issues and I wouldn' expect it to work even today. But my secondary Laptop blew a gasket a couple of days ago and since I used it almost exclusively for surfing, netflix and E-Mail, I figured a) I don't want to spend heaps of dough on a replacement and b) this is the chance to give Linux another shot. By gaining experience without the pressure of depending on the very system, I'm training on - maybe I will manage to go all the way eventually.

Looking forward to learning from all you guys and to (hopefully) contributing myself later on.

Casix

Welcome aboard! And Linux Mint is an outstanding Windows replacement, give it some time and I'm sure you'll agree. This place is an outstanding repository of knowledge and inquiry so go wild.

And I prefer "Wild Horses," the Sundays version. 8)

Not to mention the house designed by Joern Utson that I have for sale right next door. Maybe we could put a package deal together.
