New user (again)

Post by powerchord84 »

Hi all. I took a Linux class back in '05 as a part of my degree and ever since then, I've told myself that I was going to get proficient. I've had several false starts since then but I have been dedicated this time.

One of the things I love about Linux (that I learned this morning) is the inxi command. It tickles me so much that I can find out so much information with a single command. Sometimes it takes me several minutes of searching to find the same information in Windows 10.

Cheers

Welcome aboard, powerchord84! Yeah, inxi is great, and I suspect you will find a bunch of other things you like about Linux. I used to play lots of powerchords back in the day: '67 Gibson with single humbucker, Fender Bandmaster cranked up loud!

Hi powerchord84,
Welcome back to Linux and to the forums.
If you like the inxi information and want in depth information regarding your hardware
open a terminal and enter or copy/paste this:

Code: Select all

sudo lshw -html > hardware.html
It will ask for your password. Then look in your home directory
for a file named "hardware.html"
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.

Hi Powerchord, I've also played a few power chords over the years (Ibanez Blazer - all single coils), My favourite instrument, though, is my Acoustic Maton CE60D.
