New Linux user from Ireland
Hello. Just saying hello. I´m a new user(Mint 19) after 20 odd years on windows. So far I´m loving it, use it everyday, still use windows but only because i have adobe photoshop/lightroom subscription.

Hi Linows,
Welcome to the wonderful world of Linux Mint and its excellent forum !
Save yourself the money from the Adobe subscriptions for Photoshop and Lightroom and use some of the many excellent image applications available for Linux. There are numerous very good posts on this topic in this forum. It may take a little time to get used to another application, but you had to learn how to use Photoshop and Lightroom first as well.
There are even options to make the excellent Gimp image editor look like and use similar key combinations as Photoshop to make it easier for people coming from MS Windows and Photoshop to Linux. If you already know to use image editors, then using Gimp will not take much time at all to learn and be productive and there are numerous video tutorials on YouTube and elsewhere. Gimp v2.10 is pretty great.

Re: New Linux user from Ireland
Cheers everyone, I´ve only been using it for about a month after nearly 30 years of using Microsoft products, i remember using autocad on MSDOS. I had been a massive fan of Windows 10 since it came out, and then, about 2 months ago i was watching a Category5 tech tv episode on youtube and ended up downloading Mint 19 and Ubuntu 18.04. Tried both and Mint was the winner for me, it´s been my daily machine since then.
What i really found to be truely fantastic about Linux is the support. I had an issue with hard drive activity and straight away there was someone there to help with it. If that was a windows machine and on windows forums i would be still be trying to get a solution in a months time.
As for the adobe products, i still have about 7 months on my annual subscription, so by the time thats up i hope to have mastered Gimp and Darktable.
Anyway, Thanks all for the warm welcome, and hopefully i will be able to contribute to the forum in some positive way.
