Hi all,
This is my very 1st experience with Linux and installed Mint 19 (Cinnamon) yesterday after viewing videos on YouTube. I have absolutely no idea what I am doing, but at least I managed to join this forum and log in. Yay! I must admit that Mint 19 is very impressive to look at.
I do have one question if anyone can answer for me, is anyone aware of a USB wifi plug and play adapter that is fairly inexpensive. I've seen a couple of ebay but they are beyond my pensioner budget. I would appreciate any thoughts or links so I can follow them up, which means I can then have a portable laptop instead of a wired one. Thank you in advance.
I am really hoping my Linux Mint experience is positive for me, and I am also hoping to meet some honest, caring and interesting people on my unknown journey.
Thank you. David

G'day David,
welcome to our forum
so, your machine an Laptop ? you should be able to use an WiFi connection like I'm able to.
- what Internet company are you looking at ?
the cheaper deals are from either Optus or Vodaphone - - maybe $30.00 Mth ?
& if you did get the dongle from eBay, then you would still need an sim card for it.

Hi DBrisbane,
I presume that you connect to the internet via Wifi when at home. If so, you can use the free wifi at places like McDonalds, public libraries, and the like when you are not at home. Obviously, some security is required if doing that, but it saves the additional hassle of trying to get a portable internet account working with the attendant costs, if you exceed your limit.
