Switched from Windows
Switched from Windows
I have tried to like and use Linux many times over the years. I have tried to install and test dozens of different versions. I tried again a few months ago. I am still using Mint every day now. I have completely switched from the Microsoft crapware to Mint and have no regrets. FINALLY! The software manager probably deserves the most credit. Trying new software is easy and quick and its good software. I can do all of the things with Mint I did with Windows.

Welcome!
The cool thing about GNU/Linux is that you don't have to be restricted to one flavor of the kernel. There are so many different variations for different people. Ubuntu, based on Debian, is by far the most commonly used OS, which Linux Mint is built upon. You might've set yourself up for failure by using more advanced distros. I'd recommend holding off on those until you're a few years into this amazing world we call FOSS. Do more research, learn how to tinker with your setup, try different flavors of the same branch (such as Trisquel, Devuan, etc.), and see where things go from here on out.
