Hello from Townsville,AU

Post by Oldun » Sun Jun 16, 2019 9:21 pm

Hi everyone thought I should introduce myself...
70 yr. old retired ex Analyst/Programmer mainly worked on "big iron". Started with H'well 2040, then L66 and DPS8 as a sysadmin + tech coder. I then moved into sysadmin on a "vaxen farm" (11/750's & /80's). Perkin Elmer raised it's head next but I was at this stage just acting as an A/P. Spent the last few years using IBM AS/400 and Windows NT in the insurance industry.
Gave up work and travelled around AU (grey nomad style) for 12 yrs. and have washed up in Townsville.
Gave up Windows after 7 was slated for abandonment by Microsoft, but still grudgingly look after my wife's Win 10 box.

Good to be onboard Linux at last!
Regards,
Ted
