Second Coming

Post by mex02 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 2:30 am

:D Well G'day again,
Now I do say "Again" as it is my second coming.
My predecessor was 'mex', sadly mex has now passed, I think.
Previously I managed to get Mint however it was combined with a Windows partition, and well Windows after much messing about has happily for me, left the building and this lucky ten-year-old HP piece of you know what is now responsive to the point where I have become slow.
Through much mucking about HP is now HPC (happy PC) as it is now running Linux exclusively.
The next trick envisaged is a VPN, free if possible, without logging and tracking, possibly Wireguard. It seems a good situation and if one can be enthused with the comment of the Linux creator "a work of art", one would be foolhardy to dismiss Wireguard without serious trial.
That's where it all goes pear shaped for mex02 who has not the technical ability nor knowledge to achieve such trial, ah but, mex02 having a PMA and not prepared to give up without the avago attitude is gunna avashot at it.
OK, folded, Aussie thru and thru, but you'd have to be a mug to sit back.
So far it's taken me a week to figure how to get set up with Linux and to my surprise I now have a computer which is more responsive than when new with an OS which craps on Windows and without the hype.
I take the opportunity to thank those who have developed this OS and continue to do so and thank also those who may be of assistance in my quests in the future. Hopefully what I learn may also be of assistance to others.
My Kind Regards,
mex02

Welcome back Mex new version... :D

As for a VPN, it really depends how you use the Internet.
If it is with a Browser only then a simple solution is to use an add on like Browsec or use Opera that has its' own built in VPN.
If you are connecting to the world other than through a browser then it would undoubtedly be better to go with something like Wireguard.
