Hello from Italy!

Post by LoneGamer »

Hello everyone! I'm a newbie in the Linux world: I've always been a MS user basically because of video games. Now that support to win 7 is over I choose to migrate to Linux because even if I'm not an expert about pc, I don't like a lot of stuff about win 10 and it is quite heavy for my pc. I'm on dual boot mint/7, but I'd like to use Linux as much as possible as compared to 7 which I'd want to use only when there will be no other chance.
As first impact I really like it... above all security aspects like the request password for everything :!: , the GUI, the default browser (dear old fox) and lightness and speed compared to win 7.

Cheers!
My specs: CPU Q9300 / RAM 4GB / GPU MSI N460GTX / DUAL BOOT Linux Mint - Windows 7 x64

Hi LoneGamer ,
welcome to our forum.
:)

that win-10 system does seem to load up, your machine much more than it should,
& most folks have found their "upgraded" machine - - is now 'too slow'.

Hello LoneGamer,
Welcome to the forums. I too made the switch from W7 to Linux Mint and I am really pleased I did. There are a lot of helpful people here, and I am sure the moderators will provide links to useful information if they haven't already.

Best of luck with your Linux experience.
Cheers from Kansas City, USA
