Hello Mint people!

Post by Konnos »

Hi there!

Happy to be here!

I moved to LM recently, because I have an old laptop and Win10 was making things even worse! After moving to Mint I feel like I have a new laptop! :D

I've seen that same response in everyone I put Mint on their crippled Windows machines. None have wanted to go back.

Welcome to the Mint community.

last night, I finally after two years got a decent amount of recognition for Linux Mint. 8)

I had an old Dell laptop, => 10 years, can't remember now. I put 18.3 Cinnamon on it and mailed it off to my sister up in Utah, a small piece of land from here, like about 1700 miles away

She will not use anything but Windows, but gasp! her Win7 went bonkers and she had to send it to me....
she tried to use the Dell with 18.3 Cinnamon but it aggravated her, so she up and bought a new laptop with Win10 on it....

I fixed her Win7 laptop and sent it back, made her happy again..... :D

then her hubby's Win7 laptop "disappeared" ( he got sick about a year ago, and she moved it to her bedroom under the bed and plugged it in to keep the battery alive ) :P

hubby recovers enough to want to get on the Internet again.. so he pulls out the old Dell.....
by now, he has forgotten his password, and I get a phone call....

walked my sister thru logging in as 'me' and my password ( Admin ) and walk her thru to Users/Groups and she fixes his password...... just as she does that, we both hear him yell " make me an Administrator so I can do something!!! ", so I tell her how to do that.

wallah! ole hubby the grouch, is on the Internet, and once Firefox comes up, he don't know the difference

the final joke: sis is cleaning her bedroom and happens to look under the bed.......
wow! there is hubby's laptop and Win7 still works..... ole hubby is back in happy land again. :)
