Howdy from Eastern California

Post by VonZane »

Howdy, I'm Zane.

My first introduction to Linux was when I downloaded Mint 17 on a Dell D400 I bought off eBay for $15. It never worked right and was slower than molasses in the wintertime. In 2017, I purchased a Razer Blade Stealth to replace my iMac G3 which was wayyyyyy too old to be of any use nowadays. I'm still amazed how fast my Razer runs compared to the G3, haha.

Windows 10 and I never really got along. The last windows OS I used prior to 10 was XP back in middle school, so I experienced a bit of a culture shock going to 10. Because of this, I never really got attached to it and was always considering an alternative OS, though I was weary of jumping right into Linux at the time.

In July 2020, I finally took the plunge and downloaded Mint 20 Ulyana onto my Razer. I figured it was the most beginner friendly distro to start with. Overall I'm loving how Mint is working on it. The system just makes more sense to me than Windows 10, and the added ability to customize it is fantastic.

Looking forward to learning from y'all!
