Hi y'all

Post by RadioKaga »

Hey, I'm a guy from Finland.

On January of 2019, the Win7 totally collapsed on itself on my Lenovo laptop. Microsoft being Microsoft were unable to prove help, and now I had a 500e work laptop that refused to run...

That is until I decided it was time to apply some Linux magic. I did bit of searching and eventually chose Mint XFCE as my new OS and lo-behold, I got my laptop running again. Better than ever.

So far, Linux Mint has been a blessing, no machine crippling updates, no need to spent senseless amounts of money on Office suites and anti-virus.

But not everything has been perfect of course. Some hitches do run there and there. So I finally joined this forum to give some thoughts about experiences and missteps I have had with Mint, and hoping to provide some help, so that Mint can be the best desktop it can.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Sorry for late response, as I got sidetracked by moving to new apartment.

I just wanted minimal resource use for consistent performance. I'm using a Lenovo toaster from 2015.
