Howdy from Missouri
I just put Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.2 on a ASUS notebook that I have had for a long time, it came with Win-8, upgraded to 10. Performance has been marginal at best on MS. This version on Linux has put this computer in a usable condition. This is not my first use of Linux but it has been enjoyable. It is amazing how far Linux has come in just a few years.

welcome to the forum, and yes. LM20.x is going to make a lot of stuff usable.
I am an hour's drive from I-44 and the Mizzeriee state line, how close to that are you?
hate to admit it, but part of me belongs in mizzerie land, I was arrived in this world at a hospital in Joplin
One thing about Missouri that irritates me.
they reuse the same exact County Road designations over and over, cross over the County Line, and road AA changes to 'B' or BB or EE in another county.
that, to me, is absurd.... Here in OkieLand, we don't do that.... OK-88 stays the same no matter how many counties it goes thru. our county roads start at the North end of the state, and increase Numerically E/W as you go south, in one mile increments.
I am near 4000 N/S and 390 E/W and those road numbers don't change.

Welcome.
If you put an SSD (solid state disk) in in place of the one there it will be massively faster. I've done lots of them.

Uh HUH I replaced the 500 Gb HDD when it was still on Win 10, The old one crashed hard!!
I have thought about a Digi Drive, they are fast, not sure what it would take, probably wait for a faster computer with more memory.
