greetings fellow mint users! i have been using ubuntu and arch 3 years and 6 months respectively. i really like i3wm that i was using on arch, but i recently started working on a new(serious) project for which i need to use both my macbook and my linux machine so i needed a stable distro and i finally found my home here.

cinnamon is great, it is beautiful and its window tiling feature is really amazing(which is essential for me because i got used to i3wm and i cant use anything less productive/smooth). everything is now very easy thanks to mint devs and this forum where i can find solutions to every and any problem that may arise.

i have tried out many distros, but mint cinnamon is really the best. it works so well even on a 8 year old dual core i3 processor with an hdd. this is really the best a person can get out of linux :D

also, are there any trans people on this forum(it really doesnt matter, just wanna see if anyones here or not)?

Welcome to the community and very brave of you to admit you are trans if you still live in India given what I have read in the news recently
I’ll tell you a DNS joke but be advised, it could take up to 24 hours for everyone to get it.

Your current government seem to be very opposed to LGBQT+ and may reverse the rulings in 2018

It's worse here in the SSA (Squabbling States of America). That's enough comments on this before the thread gets shut down for being political.

ohh they actually dont oppose lgbtq+ people, transgenderism has been a thing here for thousands of years here(there are transgender gods in india). and most trans people here are very religious, India is not like the west when it comes to trans. however, being trans is looked down upon by society(because of social stigma) but if your family supports you its not a problem at all.

government opposes gay marriage(not as passionately as iran though, so it will probably be legalised sooner or later), but trans people have existed here forever. there are dedicated temples for trans people if they are religious and want to participate, intersex people are considered divine(literally) here so people seek their blessings in temples.

trans rights are safe, gay people are also safe(they are not persecuted or lose employment, its just that it brings shame to family) but gay marriage is still not legal which is a problem. im not very religious, but it kinda feels great to know that transness is valid in the religion haha

Aite. Welcome to the forums! AFAIK, there's no great hate here towards stuff like that, in-case that's a concern.

ahahahahah its my sister's old macbook air, she upgraded to 16inch so now i get to keep her old 13inch m1. i like the hardware but macos is too restrictive, window management is a nightmare on this device
