Been a Linux user since the late 90's. First intro was SUSE. Career started with main frames. Retired as a UNIX/Linux admin. Have lost a few steps with age and being out the corporate loop since. Still maintain my skills somewhat using Linux especially Mint, I like it's ease of use and straight forward approach to former Windows users. Keep coming back to Mint but have tried many, many flavors along the way. Greetings & Thanks!

Well dang! That's an awesome and interesting introduction. Welcome to the forums and this fellow Linux nerd is certainly happy to have you here. Did you ever work with shell programming a lot? I imagine you did a lot of automation and administrative tasks with it. I've always been curious about how that all worked, back in the day, because I'm a huge fan and advocate of shell programming.
I'm also Terminalforlife on GitHub.
