Hi All!

Postby _gez_ » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:04 pm

Thought it time to register and say hello. This evening I just upgraded from 8 to 9. Have my home partition separated from root and it worked a dream. Used the mintbackup for my software and that was painless too! Small issues with the mintmenu and various notifications not appearing on the panel but just had to add them with a right-click. And I'm no expert.

Used Ubuntu before using 8 and once I had 8 on board never went back to Ubuntu. Here is an endorsement for you - I've converted the other half to mint ages ago. She loves it. Hates it when she has to boot back into Windows for anything!

So - HI ALL!! :D

Hi gez and welcome to the forum as a participating member (obviously you've most likely been reading posts for a long time). As with your other half I only boot into Windows for a couple programs that won't run well under Wine. I'm sure you will like Mint 9 just as much as Mint 8.
