Here's my intro!

Postby LonePiper » Sat Sep 04, 2010 9:14 am

How you guys doing?
I thought it would be a bit more polite to make in intro post before asking for all sorts of technical help, so here it is! :P
I'm new to Mint, but I've been using Kubuntu for about two years, maybe a bit more. (Don't know why I didn't switch from Windows earlier!)
I just bought myself a new, shiny, swish computer (I've been using computers made from begged, borrowed and stolen parts all my life and I finally wanted something brand new), and while I was at it I thought I'd try out a different linux distro to what I've been using. I'd heard a lot of good things about Mint, so here I am now! I'm using the KDE version (I like the eye-candy and I find it's a bit further removed from Microsoft Windows than most of the other desktops) and I'm very happy with it.
While I have been using linux for a few years now, I definitely wouldn't consider myself an expert to any degree. I knew my way around MS products quite well, especially DOS, but I still feel quite lost in the mechanics of linux.
Anyway, I'm sure I'll enjoy my stay here, and I'll see you guys around!
