I realise that there isn't currently a 'Linux Mint Studio'... but I don't think it hurts to dream! ;)

You can download my 'Linux Mint Studio' logos [here].

The only thing that I dislike are the words "Pulse Audio" on the clipboard (Nice touch by the way! ;) ) I truly believe that this is the application from hell! ;) :P (Heavily overused and abused at the office, that's why!!!)
...just a note - I would rather see a "paint brush" or something rather than the camera lens, but that's purely personal preference.
I REALLY like these wallpapers, maybe we can puzzle together a .mint-package for the "Linux Mint Studio" - how about that!?

I know that people have been having problems with Pulse Audio in Hardy and Elyssa, but I get the feeling that it's here to stay, so hopefully the next version will be an improvement and its name will become more popular in the community. :)

Actually, my initial idea was to have an artist's palette with the mint colours mixed on it, but then I realised that a lens fitted better with the more technical look of the other parts of the logo (and was a nice counter-part to the circular speaker). Besides, I figure that more people would use a studio edition of Linux Mint for editing photographs than creating digital paintings... plus, I'm a photographer! :P

That's a great idea! :D (Though of course a full 'studio' distribution would be even better).

You could start a thread in the Suggestions forum where people can vote on applications?

I can understand your choice, but since it's not 100% obvious(one of my friends thought it was a small speaker cone...
How about a camera a bit tilted... :?:

I can see how the lens might not be obvious to someone who isn't into SLR photography.

I based my design around the Aperture logo, and though mine is clearly not as good as the Apple original, I'm actually pretty pleased with how it turned out - even if it did take fifty layers! :)

I think a camera could look great - feel free to edit one into the logo! :D

I like both versions. Very professional look. Version 2 would be a perfect choice for a studio version of Mint. Someone could build their own studio version and use these wallpapers.

Terrific idea!

Thanks exploder. :)

It would definitely be fantastic to see a studio version of Linux Mint at some point.

Over time, the only thing I don't like is that the LM logo is distorted, it would make more sense if it's undistorted,
because if you were to apply your logo to a speaker cone, you are most certainly going to make sure that it looks perfect, aren't you? :|

I distorted the logo because I was trying to make it look printed onto the speaker cone. My thinking was that because of the shape of a speaker cone and how they appear further away from the viewer towards the center, I should distort the logo in an attempt to emulate that.

I fear that if the logo was flat and undistorted it would look like it's floating in front of the speaker cone.

Maybe it would be better if I just removed the logo from the speaker cone entirely? I could perhaps find a place for it on the clapper board?

I understand your thoughts 100%, I would have done the same, but it's the only thing in this image that ain't perfect, I guess that's why it stands out... :|
Because apart from that I R E A L L Y like it! 8) 8) 8)
