Hi everyone!
I am trying to create an wallpaper for the upcomming version 8 of Linux Mint codenamed "Helena". I have this idea of combining 3D elements with 2D ones so i had to put it to the test and made a quick mockup using Blender and Gimp.

For 30mins of playing with different settings i think it turned out quite nice. What do you guys think about the style, and the overall design of my soon to be wallpaper?

I like it. One thing that might make it easier to see is if you somehow make the 'Helena' letters stand out a bit more from the design swirl things.

Thanks for the nice comments, but think i'll scrap this one and hopefully create a better design... :D
