Adding a new icon to LM Cinnamon 20.04

I want to add an icon I downloaded to LM 20.04 Does anybody know to do this?

There is LM20, LM20.1 and Ubuntu 20.04. There is no LM 20.04, so not sure which version you are using.

You indicate you have downloaded an icon, but have not said how you want to use it. Do you plan on replacing an existing icon? If so, which one?

I'm gonna replace the folder icon with a filing cabinet icon ... Just a personal choice ... I have the latest version of LM with all the latest updates ... but you're right I was looking at Ubuntu 20.04

You still haven't said where you want to replace it!!

If it is in the panel, then that, i believe, is down to Themes & so you cannot replace a single icon, it is all in a theme or none..or create you own theme, I guess..

This is my 'Hicolor' set - theme creators cannot spell...

If, however, you want to replace individual folder icons in Nemo then that you can do.
I use a .icon Folder in /Home to store them, but I think that you can put where you like..
